caff 10 for dogs
Leading the way with unique stylish handcrafted hound coats, collars, pyjamas and more.
Welcome to my boutique greyhound gear shop. Everything is handmade with care and to a high standard. I love experimenting with vintage and reclaimed fabrics. Most coats are made in very small runs and often cannot be repeated. Things sell quickly and it can be hard to keep up with demand so if you see something you fall for don't wait around :)
Our coats, tees and sweaters are specifically shaped for the unique sighthound body. This means they don't generally fit other breeds well. The long body shape alters where the belly bands sit and the shaping of the coat. The coats are also designed to pull over the slender sighthound head.
Small greyhound coats do not fit whippets. They just don't. They are way too big around the body and too long in the back meaning the belly band sits in the groin rather than the belly.
Please double check measurements. With the dog standing, using a flexible measuring tape, ( metal is not ideal but if you have nothing else it will do) take the length of your dog from the nape of the neck (follow the front legs upwards in a straight line to between the dog's shoulders to find the nape) along the spine, over the tail a couple of cm's to as far over the bum as to where you want the coat to end. A coat too short will sit above the tail and leave a bum exposed. A coat too long will hang over the tail end and be droopy looking. For boys, a coat that is too long can mean the belly strap will sit in a delicate area. If your dog is bang on the finished measurement for a coat size it's probably better to go up a size. This will allow for a bit of natural coat wrinkling movement.
